Mr. Spiegel is a founding partner of Scopa CRE, a multi-faceted real estate firm. 

Mr. Spiegel began his real estate career in 1982 as a salesperson with Edward S. Gordon Company, Inc. (Insignia/ESG more recently acquired by CB Richard Ellis).  While there he was involved in investment sales, corporate tenant representation and ownership representation.

During Mr. Spiegel’s career, he has negotiated hundreds of leases, valued well in excess of $1.5 billion.  He has represented numerous corporate and institutional clients: CIBC as sublease agent for 65,000 square feet at 245 Park Avenue; Citibank in its disposition of 115,000 square feet at 330 Madison Avenue; The Sumitomo Trust & Banking Company in the expansion of its New York City headquarters; Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. in both the expansion of its branch brokerage facilities (throughout the Northeast) and numerous corporate transactions including a 575,000 square foot Charles Schwab consolidation and planned relocation of its’ Market Maker in Jersey City, NJ.  Other notable corporate clients have included AT&T, Tokio Marine Insurance, Chase Manhattan Bank, Monster Worldwide and Mercer Consulting Group.

Mr. Spiegel has also served as leasing agent for the following properties (partial list):

  • Plaza 10 at Harborside Financial Center, a 575,000 square foot office building
  • 199 Water Street (One Seaport Plaza), a 1 million square foot office building
  • 17 Battery Place, a 1.2 million square foot office complex
  • 99 Hudson Street, a 150,000 square foot office building
  • 360 Lexington Avenue, a 250,000 square foot office building

Mr. Spiegel’s notable transactions in these buildings include a 150,000 square foot sub-lease to Instinet Corp., a 101,000 square foot sub-lease to Mizuho Bank at Plaza 10, a 60,000 square foot lease with Chase Manhattan Bank in One Seaport Plaza and a 270,000 square foot renewal with American Express at 17 Battery Place.

Mr. Spiegel obtained a B.S. in Broadcasting and Film from Boston University and a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from New York University.  He has served as a member of the Executive Committee of The Young Mens' Division of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and is now a member of its Cancer Research Advisory Board. Mr. Spiegel is also a current Board Member at Fenway Golf Club and is also a member of its Executive Committee.
